Based on my research around the psychology of AI and student learning, I have defined five key skills I believe students need to effectively use generative AI. To help you target and teach these skills, I’m also sharing a framework I developed and a corresponding sample assignment that you can use to incorporate this learning into your own classroom. In my experience, building into the syllabus activities that help students develop these skills has not only enhanced student engagement and learning, but has also led to a noticeable improvement in their work.

While job titles and descriptions have not changed, more faculty are being given AI-focused tasks, according to a new Educause survey. Artificial intelligence is beginning to impact jobs and policies within universities as adoption of the technology grows, a new study finds. More than half (56 percent) of those surveyed said they have new responsibilities related to AI strategy, according to Educause, a nonprofit focused on education and technology. Most of those experiencing the change are executives (69 percent), followed by managers and directors (66 percent), staff (46 percent), and faculty members (39 percent).
