Wanderlust Bench Art Park began on a 512 parcel in 2016. It’s an ongoing experiment and opportunity for busy and productive avatars to share their creative works in a sustainable way. There is an area where we share posters with landmarks to galleries, installations, and events.
The two moon gate portals lead to destinations with art collections, once you’ve accepted the experience.

There is one exhibition I really wanted to try to cover before it vanishes into the ether (it having opened nigh-on a month ago at the time of writing, on March 6th, 2024). It is Monique Beebe’s Discolouration Disrupted, which (again at the time of writing this piece) is still available at Mareea Farrasco’s IMAGO Art Galleries. Maison de la Chouette is a new art venue – at least for me – operated by the veritable Owl Dragonash, a superb patron of the arts herself ...I was drawn to Maison de la Chouette specifically because it is, throughout March and April, hosting an exhibition of art by Noa Cloud. The holder and creator of [REN] (of Noa is perhaps best known amongst SL explorers as the holder and creator of [REN] ...he is presenting fifteen images showcasing his landscape work, and they are both beautifully rendered and carry a depth of artistic express which mark them as instantly purchasable for display in anyone’s SL home. Several of the pieces offer images of SL’s wildlife and animals, ... Please click on the photo to read the full blog by Inara Pey
With the event running until the 14th of February, there's still time to explore the unique celebration of tiny spaces and creativity that is the Kowloon Locker Festival. It's an eclectic collection of decorated lockers contributed by Second Life residents and showcasing some exceptional flights of imagination. Click on the photo for the full blog
Open through until late February 2024 within the ground-level main gallery at NovaOwl Community Centre & Gallery operated by ULi Jansma, Ceakay Ballyhoo & Owl Dragonash, is a small but engaging exhibition of images by fellow blogger and Second Life traveller, Susann DeCuir. Entitled Nature and Animal Impressions from Second Life, this is a modest display of pieces with – as the name suggests – a focus on animals (particularly our feathered friends!) and landscapes. Taken at various locations around Second Life, they images serve to both illustrate Susann’s enthusiasm for the many faces of this digital realm and her richly engaging style of photography. Mareea Farrasco selected the title Obscured by Clouds for her latest collection of art. This opened to visitors on January 11th, 2024 within the Art Square at the Kondor Art Centre, operated and curated by Hermes Kondor. ... Mareea’s exhibition is something of a voyage of introspection, each image a short refrain – or perhaps stanza or verse might be a better description – on life in modern times. Fragments, the latest collection of digital art by Traci Ultsch now on display (into the early New Year, I believe) at Inspire Space Park / Art Planet, is a slightly unusual exhibition. Not because it is out-of-the-ordinary when placed alongside Traci’s overall portfolio – far from it; Fragments is as visually layered and abstracted as much of Traci’s other work. No, what makes it unusual – or perhaps curious might be a better term – is that it has not one, but three introductions, allowing visitors to take their pick as to which they find resonates the most. Dido Haas invited me to visit the August exhibition at Nitroglobus Roof gallery: “Tough Man” by Hilaire Beaumont. Dido Haas presents Hilaire Beaumont, an artist who is once again almost unbeknownst to me. I saw one picture of Hilaire so far. it was exhibited at Valium SL – Hermosa in January 2021 (read here). And Dido wrote: “Until now only existing flickr works of Hilaire were shown at a few galleries”. At the August exhibtion new artwork from Hilaire Beaumont is shown, The title and the pictures speak for themselves – Tough Man.

Coming to Kino Babylon this month: a short comedy starring Gloria Swanson! Released in 1916, "The Danger Girl" was directed by Clarence G. Badger, starring Ms Swanson, Bobby Vernon, and Helen Bray. There's a lot of cross-dressing in this one, with our heroine disguising herself as a man. And why? To find out, come and…

Within Do you Like Gold? Gem takes us on something of a retrospective of a number of his more 3D-centric installations – notably Demiurge, Skyscrapers and Arcadia – in the form of reproductions of some of the structures used in those installations, which here have been given a gold leaf effect finish. Each structure is presented on its own plinth, together with notes on both its inspiration from the physical world and details on the installation(s) in which it appeared. WE ARE PRESENCES EVEN IN THOSE PLACES WHERE WE ARE NOT, BY VIRTUE OF OUR ACTUAL ABSENCE: WE LEAVE A TRACE EMBEDDED IN WHAT DID NOT HAPPEN: THE SOMETHINGS WE MIGHT HAVE SAID THAT REMAIN UNSPOKEN, OR THE SOMETHINGS THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN DONE THAT WE WERE NOT PRESENT TO DO. – Scylla Rhiandra, Presence,
The images Scylla supplies are studies in composition and narrative. Each holds a story, or at least a vignette which is clearly discernible. "Marescence is a birth of a mother, a ritual of passage. a spectrum of emotional and existential ruptures, it's much like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly. Matrescebce is lifelong in the sense that once you become a parent you always forever will be. My exhibition is a tribute to my Mother who passed away in December , 2023". CΛRELYNΛ (carelyna) This is a description offering much to ponder about motherhood. However, and more particularly here, it is used as a personal way to recognise and pay tribute to Carelyna’s own mother and all she offered, and who passed away at the end of 2023. Comprising twelve pieces in Carelyna’s distinctive abstract style, Matresence presents rich interpretations on many of the elements and changes associated with becoming a mother. Predominantly presented in Kitten’s trademark panoramic style, the 10 images are a tour de force not only in her ability to capture a story-in-a-frame, but also in her skill as a compositional artist; the framing of each piece is both natural and cropped to perfection; the use of both colour and black and white images demonstrating a measured and skilled ability to evoke feelings and emotions.
