Jim Garand never fails to intrigue / please with his periodic re-designs of Grauland, his Homestead region. Since 2019 he has consistently offered environments for people to visit which have mixed themes and ideas in multiple ways – landscapes, art, architecture, history, mystery, science fiction, and so on. As such, it is always a pleasure to drop in and witness what he has most recently created for people to enjoy. And for me, this is particularly true of the April 2024 edition of the region, which he has called Grauland – Last Trees, as it reminds me of one of my favourite – and potentially one of the most underrated classics of of the genre – science-fiction film, Silent Running. The first thing to say is that it's an adult club, particularly a dance venue, with a Motel attached. Regardless, I was impressed by how ownerSandra (sahandra) had developed it. Every good thing comes to an end and it's unfortunately time for us to say goodbye to Magicland Park. THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us over the last 15 years. This has been an amazing incredible journey that we were fortunate to be able to share with all of you. Magicland Park was a labor of love and we enjoyed this journey we were on. It was with a heavy heart that we came to this decision, but our lives have moved us into a different direction. We hope that you enjoyed the moments you had here with us on this amazing journey. With the arrival of spring, I felt the need to make some additional changes to Norgaard Village, greening it up and allowing a lot more space for various nature features. Refugium, too, has seen another facelift. (One of many in recent months, but you know me – I keep decorating and redecorating!) And so as of this month, our small meditation group meets in a lovely little cottage designed by Ria Bazar.
